hello everyone we can see that the app indies are joining welcome to our webinar we are going to be starting the topic of today's webinar is uh cycling the end-to-end merchandising process the idea behind today's topic is to actually show the efficiency that connected process provides in the retail how connecting the dots and aligning teams translates into higher profit and higher efficiency and let me start with introducing today's speakers and hosts uh i'm co-hosting this webinar with uh anna irma who is the head of business development and uh is very very well familiar with the merchandising process management welcome anna
hello thank you vlad for the introduction hello everyone uh thank you thank you for for uh being here today and my name is vlad lahada i'm the head of international growth and uh we are going to uh start with just a brief introduction of the lithio why we are speaking on the topic and why this is relevant so as a company uh we have been in the marketplace for over 11 years and over this time we've been focused on creating next generation digital supply chain tools for retail business and uh we've we've brought the experience and we can go to the next slide now we've brought the experience uh working across different types of uh retail different formats different verticals in automation and optimization and we've combined all that experience into world
class solutions on inventory optimization planogram optimization and trade promotion management so for those who have attended our previous webinar uh on inventory optimization i hope you have enjoyed uh the first the topic the and the tool itself uh and we are going to continue in the same format so today's today's merchandising topic is is connected to showcasing the solution and showing how the cycle process process helps be more efficient and uh the next topic that we are going to speak on in our next wednesday event is going to be on the trade promotion management uh so uh let's go ahead and get to the next slide anna so uh we've we've combined all of this experience um from as i mentioned various various uh verticals of retail uh our background is predominantly in
grocery retail and uh health and beauty uh convenience uh and and supermarket but we've also have experience working with electronics oil and gas diy toy retailers so combining all of that experience helped us create uh create very efficient solutions uh bring actual experience from the field uh test theories test uh test solutions and and create uh create tools that work um and we can go ahead and switch to the next slide so how our experience over the past 11 years translated uh into global presence is uh through uh through first of all loyal customers that spread the good uh words about the work that we try and do and we were able to expand to over 1600 countries
and work with over 160 retail companies implement the projects and deliver the results since that's the key objective every project that we work on and we're able to do this with almost 200 employees across multiple countries and continents and with this brief introduction uh we can go ahead and get started with a pro product demo since that's the interest uh of today and at the floor is yours yeah thank you vlad for the introduction of our company and today we're going to speak about with a very important topic for the retail business such as planogram optimization uh before we go to their solution itself uh one important thing that we should mention is that during implementation of such kind of solution it's very important to keep in mind that uh every solution should bring the
economic effect to the company so every investment should bring the economic effect and what can be the effects from their optimizing and automating the planogram optimization process uh that's some more than average numbers from our customers uh so first of all it's more sales because uh with the when we put the right products on the shelf we get there are more oil for loyalty from our customers and we get the same increase in sales uh second effect is less over stocks uh because we understand that there are the right products on the shelf and they're better turnover inventory to know better inventory turnover and of course due to the automation of the planogramming process due to their uh very convenient tool inside there inside their solution uh it helps to make the planogram creation faster more convenient and spend less time of people who are involved in this process and
during the project as uh during their implementation uh of all our projects we're really focused on getting the results and economic effects uh in in a nutshell what the solution does and what's the idea behind that is that it helps to automate their uh the process of creation the planogram so to to go from uh this category based planogram when everything is highlighted in the excel file uh with the just like product category without understanding their uh like uh the sku uh to their uh your item-based planning ground when we clearly know uh which sku is on the shelf in what a number of faces uh white is on the shelf because we analyze the numbers and based on that we create the planogram uh and uh the second thing that is important to mention that uh we uh really concentrate on uh cycling this entrance merchandising process and we do
that with the help of for their web application and mobile application so how it looks like the first is it's the first step is generation of the planogram itself in their web application after that it's communication of their generated planogram to their stores so to the store managers or to the merchandisers uh the third step is actually that with the help of the mobile application they can make the actual layout uh and it's very convenient to do that with the help of the mobile app [Music] today and uh after they did the actual layout according to their uh to their digital planogram uh they can just make the photo of their layout and send it back to the central office so that they control and compare that with the initial planogram can i um for the interruption uh uh a housekeeping rule i wanted to make sure that our attendees today uh are
asking questions when they come up uh so we try and make this as hands-on as possible so uh if you have a question please go to the questions section of the go to to webinar and type your question or you can send it directly to the chat uh and then you've you've talked on uh um on the uh process uh so the importance of of cycling the process and i know that we have uh have here the retail companies from different verticals and different uh stages of the maturity so can you can you uh briefly describe what type of companies need this tool and at which stage actually uh this tool would be great to have for any kind of company that works with the retail uh you know like works in the retail business because uh like
when they are making their layout when they are making the planogram uh usually the first step that retail does they do it manually in the form of a different either excel or like some illustration tools where it's convenient for them to make it and uh they don't really understand uh their like as i mentioned the item-based planogram so they have just some highlights on the product category and with just having these highlights it's very uh it's it's hard to control the execution it's hard to control there uh to understand how many uh how many skus are based in what number of phases and moreover uh we really focus on the analytics and we think that the planogram should be made based on the numbers and based on the numbers based on the sales and it's uh with the help of excel or other tools it's almost important almost impossible to understand uh what lies behind this planogram what numbers
okay okay so basically basically any company right yeah yeah basically yeah actually any company that has at least like several stores so they should be focusing on they should be also automating this process okay very nice very nice and then uh uh once you're going to be actually showing uh showing the the the tool uh we'll talk a little bit more about the kinds of effects that this solution brings and why uh why uh creating planograms based on the solid data is a lot more efficient than than grouping them by categories as many companies are are still doing thank you yeah so let's get back to the most interesting part from my point of view we will see the solution uh so the solution is a cloud-based one and it's connected to it it's one of the modules of the default platform that vladimir was talking about
and um it is connected to the erp system and it gets the data about the assortment about their prices about the sales and all the data that is actually needed for creation of the planograms uh so the first uh part that i wanted to show is the dashboard it's the part that shows their uh like numbers overview numbers for the retail company and helps to understand uh first of all is their performance in terms of the merchandising and uh planogram management and secondly it helps to understand how the tool is used actually by the merchandising team so we can see here some numbers regarding their used area uh so what uh uh what area is actually occupied with some uh products and their turnover parameter the net price per meter some profit per meter and so on so some basic apis in terms of the merchandising management and additionally we can have here that we
can see the turnover per meter by category we can compare different categories uh here and we can drill down to each category and see their uh profit per meter and net price per meter for this product category and additionally on the dashboard we can analyze their efficiency of the made planogram so uh it it shows their profit return rate by category and it means how efficient is the planogram made in terms of their uh sales uh so uh what we can do here we can also drill drill down to each product category and we can see here different numbers so their closest the number of category to their one it means that their layout is made in a more sufficient way ah if it shows that uh their numbers are above or below one it means that some corrections are needed in terms of making the planogram ah now let's get back to the solution
itself and to the process when we create their uh like when we create and we go to the creation of the real planogram so everything starts with the equipment creation uh when we should uh create the equipment uh and a base uh like some customized equipment according to their uh like specific size for their uh some racks for example for the retail uh and we can go to the commit equipment we have here different templates that will help to create the specific equipment so for example we have here the trading rack we click on the trading rack uh we drill down to the trading rack we can is it uh zoom it uh uh zoom in or zoom out and we can create the plan and the uh customized equipment here uh so we can add either shelf like manually just by adding the shelf uh or we can make their uh filling with a different like with some standard shelf if they're uh if the
size and is a different and it's like some some typical equipment we can just go to the second and make the auto fill so we clean the previous clean their uh equipment from previous sir like settings and just submit and we got this shelf and after that we can move it here we can make some corrections and so on so the tool has a like pretty broad functionality uh like just now we are covering the basics and is there a need for example for us to play some uh to devote some uh some space on the shelf for each particular equipment for example it can be relevant uh sorry not equipment by the scale uh this can be relevant for the consumer electronics uh like for example mobile phones when we understand that there should be just like three mobile phones on their shelf uh we can make here the landing and we can place here there and devote time for each particular piece uh on the shelf
and after that we can save this equipment and in the equipment library and after that we can place this equipment on their store layout uh let's get to their uh like the main part i would say of the solution this is macros basic constructor uh where we can actually build their floor plan uh where we can uh from the floor plan we can drill down to the planogram itself and make click some settings and corrections in the planogram and so on uh so uh what we see here we see here the two tabs the first one is the stores and the second one is format uh the stores will be uploaded automatically from the europa system and the assortment in this source will also be automatically uploaded from the erp system uh when the data change is made additionally near each store we can see two dots at the black dot and the red dot it means that the black dot means that uh there has been some changes in
the assortment metrics and there are skus that are on the planograms but they shouldn't be there so they should be deleted from the planograms and the red dot means that there is some assortment that what uh was introduced recently and we need to add this assortment of the planogram uh additionally we have in a tool in the dashboard we have here the assortment management uh where we can see all this skills that we are either added or deleted and it's very convenient from here to understand to go directly to the store to add this sku to their panogram or to delete this sku to the planogram we can also drill down to the store and drill down to the planogram itself um let's get back to them can i ask just one one question so uh you've been you've been talking about how how these stores appear from uh from the erp and then all of the analytics that you've showed that displays a lot of sales data that that displays the
uh the sales area data so uh could you explain to uh to our attendees today how that how how this system interacts with erp and what's required for it to operate properly yeah uh sure there uh [Music] like when we uh start the project with the retailer the first uh state the first thing that we are doing is implementation so we should uh make the data exchange with the european system and should scale the project uh it is done into three stages uh the first stage is when we actually like analyze the current business process we uh make the technical assignment for the data exchange and we actually help a retailer to make the data exchange so to upload the files uh to the csv to the ftp server or to make the rp integration uh the second stage when the data is exchanged is already made uh and that we are doing the pilot for some limited number of category uh
and for some like uh choosing category and we are providing the education for that some training sessions and we are doing together this mutually this like some test equipment for the pilot group uh once their uh pilot is made and we can and we can scale we actually go to the third stage when we scale and i think that the next question will be regarding their uh regarding their time for this timeline for this kind of project uh so i can say that uh such implementation it takes from about like uh two to four months uh on average and it depends like some internal factors in the incoming data and so on um okay uh so uh yeah thank you for the question uh let's proceed with their uh with the demo
itself so i mentioned that here there are two tabs the first step is the source and the second tab is format what does it mean by format is that we have uh the equipment that is the formal equipment and this equipment is pretty standard for all of the stores where the securities is situated and once we make changes to this equipment uh it will be applied to all of the stores so for example if we understand that okay we have the equipment with some mineral water and it is the same in all the stores of our retail chain uh we can make the into the format one and uh once we make the changes it will be applied to all of the stores so it's very convenient to work with such kind of their like standard equipment and when we are talking about the other parts of the equipment we are always talking about the store-specific planogram it means that the planogram is created uh just specifically for this store according to the size of the
equipment in this store according to the assortment in the store and they we can see the sales of this store and uh based on the sales we can make decision about making the planogram uh so we actually uh sir sorry for the interruption but we do have a question on the topic that you were just talking about so uh there's the question is how do planograms different differ for different size stores and different sales volume stores managing breadth and depth uh so you mentioned you you you mentioned that this the planogram in the system is created individually for each store based on the sales data and uh according to the data that is used by the algorithm so how how does uh how does that differ for different uh formats uh is there anything anything else that affects it uh first of all uh when we are creating
the planogram we should understand what is the assortment for this specific store and uh while when the manager is creating their planogram he is seeing just the assortment of his store and uh after he created the planogram he will be able to see the sales of the created planogram to see the data of this planogram so to see their highlights for example according to abcd analysis so to understand the performance of which sku on the shelf and additionally there can be for example there is one function such as autofacing that helps to recalculate the number of faces for hsku on the shelf based on the sales data and this is go this is all uh like uh this is all store specific okay all right and also uh you've when you were showing the dashboards that you were you were able to uh to showcase how the system uh
determines uh the space whether it's enough for the category or or not enough or for the category should whether it should be uh should be decreased or increased right so that's another parameter that is used uh for different store formats in different categories as this tool is also is used for for category uh for uh for category optimization yes yes yes so uh actually when we are making the autofacing it analyzes that and uh analyzes what a part uh like due to the some specific settings it analyzes what part should be devoted to uh to each like uh brand or like uh type of their sku and so on okay thank you uh so regarding their uh proceeding with the uh the demo we are right now we can see their stall layout and uh this store layout can be done either
manually uh so just in the system create in the system but usually the companies they are using the autocad for creating their layouts and this like layout from the autocad can be uploaded here and based on this layout we can make the actually the interactive floor plan what does what do i mean under the interactive it means that we can click on the equipment and we can see all parameters for this equipment uh and like the size of this equipment and we can drill down directly to the planogram from the stroller uh from the flop down uh if we need to for example we don't want to see the floor plan we can just switch off their layout by this button uh the important thing here is that there are floor plans they can be created and and they can be uh they can be different statuses that can be assigned to the floor plan it means that for example if their floor plan is in progress we can assign the in progress status and if
the same it can be like the saved approved published fast start and archive so the next step is when we are talking about their planogram like we can click on their equipment and we can drill down directly to the planogram uh and uh we can see the planogram here we can the item-based planogram so we can see each specific sku here and for more with ability we can click on the product view to see all the covers and how actually the planogram will look like on the shelf uh and additionally we can so here we can see here the 3d uh 3d uh like model or for this uh like planogram was already like placed as he used on the shelf uh additionally we can see of course information about hsk on the shelf so we just click here and we can see all information we can see the dimensions we
can see the number of faces uh we can see the number of shelf the price the stock balance and so on and also the compression ratio uh what is the compression ratio it's their parameter that can be applied to escalators that have the stuff the soft packages like the peanuts like potato chips and such kind of goods oftentimes we we have questions from retailers on where does this data on dimensions is coming from because uh roughly 20 to 30 percent of retailers do have that data if they haven't had the planogram solution uh already uh implemented so where is this data coming from that's a very good question so uh like for more mature retailers these data they have they usually have this data existing in their europa system uh some of the retailers they don't and
actually that's one of like the side effects of the project because we help to uh to improve the incoming data and we have to have this data in the uh system and it can be also under entered with the help of our mobile application and after that like it will be shown in the system and we it can be uh like exchange back to the european system of the customer uh so yeah it's uh it's like one part of their one stages of the project when we are analyzing their uh their like data that retailer has and uh like how to work on this data if it's not to like uh if it's not this data is not enough for making the proper chronograms okay um did i answer your question yes yes thank you okay good so let's proceed with the the planogram and
uh here i would like to mention that there are three ways how we can create the planogram and the first one is of course like the manual one where when we can uh drill down to their uh like the assortment metrics we can find the needed uh like a category and we can uh just like drag and drop these products and put them on the shelf and after that we can work with the dimensions we can increase the number of facings as you can see uh there are a number of face facings in with it is uh done manually like in this case about the number of facings in depth it was calculated automatically by the system so it understands according to their shelf parameters and to the shelf depth it understands and calculates her how many products can be put on the shelf uh and the next part is the next so we are just doing it manually by the way we can rotate this product in different
ways and we can put this product for example in two rows uh oh sorry not like that like that we can put this product into rows and we can for example like increase the number of faces uh the second option how this planogram can be created is when the company actually has already had already used such some system or they just have the data in the excel uh they can uh like open this excel file and copy the data from the excel uh what should be in this excel file is the svg number the uh number of faces uh the number of basins in width and in depth not necessarily we should have like all these data so we are just coping that without their uh table names and we copy this information we go back to the system uh we click here the button the basket and we just enter this uh here we make enable facing we make
sure that uh here it's information the same as in excel file here it's not because the equipment was the last column so here we make some changes and reassign that and and after that we just upload this this data to the on the equipment and the planogram is generated according to the excel data uh but the most interesting one and the more sophisticated one is of course to kind of automate this process uh when we don't need to do it manually but we just need to uh to enter some parameters and the system will create their uh the planogram by itself uh so in our case what we are entering we are entering their product category its juices we enter three brands uh here uh we um we show in like according to which logic to make the sorting uh to either how to make the
layout either it should be vertically or horizontally uh we should uh like set some filters which kind of products to choose for uh that should be placed on the planogram uh to how their faces of wheat of products and wheat should be calculated and uh if there are some certain negotiated uh conditions with their supplier it can also be stated here in the percentage and after that we just upload that to the sector and the system will generate the planogram automatically so it's very uh like convenient to work in such way when the system can do it automatically and like there is no need for manual uh for manual work uh okay this looks amazing yes uh this looks amazing so you've showed you showed the the parameters that you've configured to populate these planograms are those are those
reconfigurable can you use different set of parameters or this is strictly as you showed now the parameters can be customized uh [Applause] especially the parameters for like the for making the sorting so this make this certain parameters can be customized according to their uh like uh retailers preferences the main thing that we should have the data for this uh for this per of like uh for uh for applying these parameters okay so as long as uh as the uh there's a a clear set of rules uh the system can apply them to generate the planogram yeah yeah yeah all right and then uh also you know there's a great number of retail companies that used multi-format stores from convenience to hyper-market and let's say they have category space that varies from format
to format how do they approach planogram management in this case with multiple formats uh if they have multiple formats they can use the first of all they can use the format equipment that i showed in the beginning of their link when we were talking about the macro spacing constructor and secondly they can use the group management when they can easily like copy their like their equipment their planograms with the on this equipment from one store to another stores for example they can take equipment for from the first store and apply this equipment and copy this equipment to like uh second third the fifth and uh tenth store okay all right thank you yeah let's proceed uh let's get back to their uh to their floor plan and now let's go to uh pepsi
for example and we will see how the process when we change the planogram when we communicate this planogram to the store will look like uh we already have the published planogram and right now we are making some changes to the planogram and for example let's decrease that and let's increase and after that we just publish this panoram uh and uh i will ask for some time as i need to switch from the mobile application and i will show you how they are like how our mobile application looks but i need some time for that to switch from my mobile phone all right let's give them uh yes while you're switching i'm going to quickly recap what we've seen so far and how this is connected to a a cycled uh process so first uh creating planograms and then
uh populating creating equipment populating floor plans with that equipment and uh what what it gives is is the possibility to understand how much shell space uh there is available and all that shelf space is accounted for in the system analytics and the performance of that shelf space can be reviewed and monitored on regular basis with by anyone who has access to this cloud software and once once the equipment is there the planograms are then created uh either either for the format or individually for every equipment and then at that stage once once the planogram is created or is modified it's then being sent to the location to the retail location and the employees uh at the store receive the notifications to their
mobile app since we offer an ios native ios and android apps and uh once that is received they are able to go ahead and implement those changes and anna is going to show exactly how that is done uh yeah so i'm in my mobile application i suppose that you can see my screen right now so uh i'm from mobile phone and what we can see here we can see here the list of stores and each uh one important also thing that each manager will see just his store for example he's responsible for and we go to this store we go to uh we can see the list of tasks uh uh like highlighted by the new by completed expired irrelevant and so on uh and we can go to the new this is the tasks that are that have
like we are shown automatically after the data exchange so once for example we made changes to the pepsi equipment to the pepsi planogram we got the new task here and we here we see the pepsi here and we are drilling down to the pepsi and we can understand that okay we need to make some corrections to the planogram and to make sure that we updated the actual layout so how it can be done we can see here the planogram we can first of all like click on each sku in the planogram and we can see information about each sku in this planogram uh secondly we can uh see here different information such as like for example changes so we've made some changes in the planogram and here we can see like what changes were made to the planogram uh and also we can see here the list of skus that uh like that are in in this planogram uh and we switch off uh the one important step here when we are talking
about their uh execution is that uh the store manager after he made they actually out according to the planogram he should uh confirm this task by uploading the either the real photo of the planogram or the photo from there uh from the gallery so what he can do he goes to here and he can upload this uh photo uh and uh like i already have photos i'm not in the store right now and i'm uploading this photo as uh and i prove that i made actually there uh i made the actual layout and their head office will see this like approval uh in their mobile in their web application and while we are in them just in a couple of minutes we will go back to the web version and uh right now one thing that i wanted to show is that uh i wanted to show that we can we have here the scanner uh with the help of
which we can the barcode scanner with the help of which we can scan the product and uh uh like to understand uh what the product is and uh where this product should be placed i have here a bottle of pepsi i hope you can see it right now so uh right now i am going to scan the barcode and we will see here this uh pepsi in the mobile application we can see the dimensions for this perhaps here we can see the uh stock balance we can see the price we can see the supplier and other different parameters so it's very convenient for the store manager for example for the uh like uh products that we are supplied to there and deliver to the stores and they need to like put them on the shelf okay uh yes uh just a few questions the questions that came up so uh you're showing today a grocery
grocery assortment is this solution only for grocery stores or has does it have any limitations to what it can do uh now this kind of solution is not only for the grocery stores we are working with different kind of retail business we are working with toy houses we are working with the consumer electronics with the gas stations with pharmacists uh the uh only limitation that i would like to mention is that we are not working with the facial retail business uh like just it's not like our kind of target audience but with their other retail verticals so for their other gel verticals we are a good fit okay all right thank you and we have a question from the audience uh does this do you consider product life uh 6 9 13 or 23 week 26 weeks etc
uh meaning if if i understood correctly uh does this solution um remove automatically products that uh when when their life cycle has ended in the assortment uh it doesn't remove the products because when there are it highlights the product that should be removed by the black uh we can by the way seed on the pepsi by highlighting with it with a black color uh but it doesn't uh remove it and because we need to understand that this product should be replaced by something uh and uh like uh this is like if we there this product will be just removed there will be some empty spaces on the shelf okay so um you've mentioned uh well you're actually sorry before before you proceed uh i one just wanted to show that here we in this uh like uh planogram we can
see that there are the products that are highlighted and we can just like delete this uh products from their planogram easily or we can go as a i showed in the beginning to the dashboard into the assortment management and there will be the product that should be deleted but in this case we will understand from which planogram we deleted them and we can right away make the changes and uh um make the changes and uh replace this sku's with some other skus okay okay so you you showed a great overview of how uh how these macro space can be planned how the uh how the microspace can be planned uh and now when we have all of these planograms ready when we when this this is an ongoing process can you talk a little bit about how the shell space can be optimized what tools and capabilities you offer
yeah sure just before we go with just a quicker note here that we can see here the photo that i uploaded from the mobile application and in this way we can just compare this photo to the to the uh planogram uh yeah uh regarding your question just a second i will um i will switch off uh so uh regarding there uh how this shell space can be optimized there are several parameters and uh one of them not parameters but like ways uh one of them of course it's analytics and we make a very big big focus on the analytics in all our solutions and in this solution as well and we have here different tools for the analytics uh let's go to the basic color uh we can go to the analytics tab we can choose the period for which we need to make it to analyze the sales for example and we can upload this uh like upload this data and it will
highlight the planogram according to abcd analysis for example uh if we understand if you need to understand the sku performance in terms of the abcd and additionally we can uh download this information about the sales and to understand how each sku performs on the shelf so the bright red it means that they have the good sales and like the gray one it means that either there is like no data or they didn't have any kind of sales at all and uh there additionally we have here the analytic cube and in this analytic cube we can uh also get different information about the cisco use we can uh uh sort that in different uh like ways we can group them by by brand for example and just a second we can group them by brand for example now we can see the pepsi and so on uh so uh there it's the first part of the analytics that can be done directly in
the planogram mode uh but if we get back to their uh floor plan uh there is also analytic available uh and we can uh we should also choose the time period for that uh and we are downloading information according to abc for example and additionally we can build here the heat map uh to understand what is uh uh like the most popular equipment and what uh what are their like uh hottest zone in our in our lake floor in our store uh and uh one more here we also have the analytic cube and uh we can go to the analytic cube and analyze this just in the table and additionally what we have here we have here there are different kind of excel reports that can be uploaded and by the way this type of reports they can be customized according to their uh like retailer specific but
